The human crisis, triggered by the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and intensified by societal unrest, uncertainty, and conflicting information, has not only forced us to reexamine the myth of “normal,” but has also ushered in a 21st century renaissance.
We stand and reflect at a fundamental inflection point in human history.

However, we must appreciate and not linger in the historical moment. In order to transcend the crisis, in order to survive and thrive, we must actively imagine better futures, future that are:

Technology enabled: Technology pervades every aspect of our lives. If it does not enable us, it disables us.

Business focused: Business is the instrument through which we shape society. If we do not intentionally leverage it, society will be shaped by happenstance.

Human powered: Humans “power” everything. We must recognize people are the source of all energy and lifeblood of business and society rather than targets to exploit.

Society embracing: The only way to survive our present crisis and thrive in the future is to embrace everyone in our global community. If we don’t we will not survive our future.

As we ponder and explore these concepts, we must recognize a continuously emerging “absence-of-a-normal.” We must seize the opportunity of Catalyzing the Future — Foresight, Agility, Resilience, Antifragility, and Humanity.
